CDC Has Released New Guidelines

The CDC has been keeping us updated on their Covid guidelines. Their guidelines on small and large gatherings just received a new update to consider vaccination attempts. Given that catering has been a big part of our business from the start, we here at Pauni Island were curious what this would mean for our business. Well, let’s have a run-down.
Mask Requirements
The main consideration for most people is mask requirements. Are they still necessary? It depends on many things now, but the big one is whether or not you’re outdoors and whether or not you have room to spread out. Virus transmission outdoors is very unlikely and with the increasing amount of people vaccinated against the disease, the likelihood of spread is now even smaller. So, if you’re looking to have a gathering where people can let the masks down if they want, now’s a good time for it. Summer’s on the way and that means outdoor parties are a go again.
Just make sure that you space the tables out so people have room to breathe. For those who still wish to wear masks, there’s no mandate to remove them, so feel free to do what makes you comfortable. Keep in mind that masks are still being recommended for indoor events and definitely for people who haven’t yet got vaccinated.
Catering For Business Lunches

We do a lot of business lunches around Cache Valley. We pull up in our truck and provide some food to anyone who comes by. Does this count as catering an outdoor gathering? Yes. Do you need masks? It will depend on how closely people get together, but if we’re pulled up in the parking lot, feel free to come out. We will be doing everything we can to make absolutely sure there’s no risk of transmission to you.
For catering, your safety is our concern and we’ll continue to do our part. One of the ways we maintain safety for our customers is to minimize the number of people handling the food. We keep a small number of people to serve and make sure that only they ever handle it. We serve the food to you so that only people we know are virus-free handle it.
